Crape Myrtle

This crape myrtle sprung up in the yard and Kay moved it here. It is outside the sprinkler system.
It was doing okay until Spring 2009 when the top third of it appeared to be dead.

The ground dropped off suddenly behind the crape myrtle, making it prone to topple over, so we enlarged the area with rip-rap and filled it in with compost.
